Competition Dates: July 4, 5 & 6, 2008

 

Location: Blacks Creek Public Shooting range

                 2420 E. Kuna – Mora Road, South of Boise

 

Competition Open to: Open to all competitors who are members of the NRA and the Idaho State Rifle and Pistol Association (or a member of an affiliated Western State Association; Colorado, Montana, Oregon, New Mexico, Wyoming, Utah or Washington). Idaho State Rifle and Pistol Association membership is $15.00. Applications will be available for on-site membership. Anyone not having a 2008 NRA Silhouette Classification Book will be required to buy a book at the match ($12.00).

 

Rules: Current NRA Cowboy Lever Action Rifle Silhouette rules will apply.

 

Registration Fees: $25.00 first gun, $20.00 each additional gun. (Under 18 $15.00 first gun and $10.00 each additional gun)

 

Entry Close Date: June 20, 2008. All competitors must pre register to participate.

 

Match Times:

 

  July 4: Registration and practice for the Smallbore Cowboy Rifle match 11:00 am – 12:30pm. First relay at 1:00pm.

 

 July 5: Competitors meeting and practice for Center Fire Cowboy Lever Action Rifle 8:00 – 9:00am, first relay at 9:15am. 12:00 – 12:30 lunch break.

 

  July 6: Competitors meeting and practice for Pistol Cartridge Cowboy Lever Action Rifle match 8:00 – 9:00am, first relay at 9:15am.

 

Course of Fire: One 60 round match for each gun. Smallbore Cowboy Rifle will be shot on Fri. July 4. Center Fire Cowboy Lever Action Rifle will be shot Saturday, July 5, and Pistol Cartridge Cowboy Lever Action Rifle will be shot Sunday, July 6.

 

Classification: Standard NRA Silhouette Classification will be used. All rifles must meet the NRA standards for each discipline.

 

Safety: All safety rules will be enforced. NRA rules apply. Eye and ear protection must be worn on the firing line.

 

Ammunition: NRA rules apply.

 

Awards: Awards will be presented for each Match Winner, Top Aggregate Resident Shooter and high score in each class plus (if three or more shooters are entered in these categories), High Junior, High Lady and High Senior. Donated prizes will be distributed by random drawing. The award ceremony for each match will be presented at the end of the day’s competition.

 

General Information: Camping at the range is permitted. Water, public showers and rest rooms are available. Soft drinks and a food concession will be available. Our silhouette range currently has two banks of ten animals at each distance. Target setting will be provided by the local chapter of the Young Marines. Each relay will consist of two shooters for each animal. Each shooter will shoot a five animal string followed by a short cease fire period and then shoot their second five animals prior to leaving the firing line. Range capacity for a maximum of five relays is 40 shooters. First come first served.
