2010 IAWCA Civilian Marksmanship Program Match Dates

Black's Creek Public Shooting Range - Boise, Idaho

April 6th
May 4th
June 1st
July 13th
August 3rd
September 7th

IAWCA is a Civilian Marksmanship Program registered club.  The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) is a national organization dedicated to training and educating U. S. citizens in responsible uses of firearms.  The CMP is a federally chartered 501 (c) (3) corporation that encourages personal growth and building life skills.

IAWCA CMP matches are shot at 200 yards in three positions that include slow fire standing (off-hand), rapid fire sitting, rapid fire prone, and slow fire prone positions.  Traditional CMP matches are shot at 200, 300, & 600 yards.  Because Blacks Creek Range is restricted to shooting at 200 yards we use reduced size targets to simulate shooting at 300 yards, and 600 yards from the 200 yard line.

Rifles required for shooting CMP competition should be the M1 Garand, M1A (M14), or AR 15 in their “As issued” USGI original appearance configuration i.e., no aluminum free-float hand guard tubes on AR 15 rifles, no optical sights, etc. in order to qualify the shooter as a CMP match winner.  Provisions are made for other rifles provided they are magazine fed and capable of holding 10 rounds in the magazine, the latter is necessary because there are two rapid fire stages that require mandatory magazine changes

If you have any questions or need additional information feel free to contact Don Bledsoe at dbledsoe@isp.com or 336-3321.

Registration begins at 5:30PM and the match starts at 6:00PM.

Matches will be held at Blacks Creek Public Shooting Range
(Tuesday evenings):

We encourage you to introduce new shooters to the CMP program.  To help in that respect IAWCA has two match grade CMP legal AR15 service rifles that new (or old) shooters can use.  These are true national match quality CMP service rifles with match quality triggers.  From my experience with them they will shoot better than the person behind the rifle.  Please let me or Steve Markel know in advance if you need the use of a club AR15.

We look forward to seeing you for another year of great CMP match shooting.
